15 Billion Stolen Credentials on the Dark Web
A new study suggests that the number of stolen credentials for sale on the Dark Web could be more than 15 billion, with usernames, passwords and other login information for everything from online bank accounts to music and video streaming services are available.
The data comes from hundreds of thousands of data breaches. As you’d expect, the most expensive credentials for sale were those for bank and financial services like PayPal, with an average price of £59.00.
“The sheer number of credentials available is staggering,” said Rick Holland, CISO at Digital Shadows.
